Quick Guide
Tips We say it every time because it works– Get your pupils involved in the project. The more enthusiastic your children are the better the cookbook will be and the more you shall sell. More recipes = more success to increase sales of your cookbook include as many recipes as possible from as many different people as possible Worried you won’t gather enough recipes? Make it a homework task! Then there can’t be any excuses. 2 cookbooks per recipe Worried about selling enough cookbooks? In our experience 2 cookbooks are sold per recipe. It appears to be parents and grandparents who buy the books most commonly and we have heard that lots of pupils like to give them as presents to various family members. Photos Including photos of pupils really helps sell the cookbook – especially to proud grandparents! Themes Give your cookbook a theme, for example, a Medieval Cookbook, or a cookbook inspired by a certain country, a vegetarian cookbook, a meatfeast cookbook (just to counter my previous suggestion!), a seaside-seafood cookbook – the worlds your oyster! Sell it at fairs Sell your cookbook at one of your fairs – prepare a special stall with portions of your delicious cooking ideas ready to sample Sponsoring Ask local businesses to sponsor you – let them include a recipe that could include a wee bit of advertising. If you have any tips please let us know and we’ll be delighted to add them here
